Craig Richardson retired in January 2020 following seven years as Managing Partner and CEO of Canadian General-Tower Limited headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario. Canadian General-Tower Limited is the world leader in synthetic coated rollstock for the automotive and industrial markets. Craig led a global team of 1400 employees in five countries manufacturing synthetic leather for automotive interiors and vinyl liners for backyard pools.
Prior to that, Craig had served as a leader for the past 20 years in Canada's food processing sector. The past fourteen years he served as President of Grand River Foods, a $250 million food processor employing more than 400 in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region. Before joining Grand River Foods, he served as President of Strathroy Foods, one of Canada's largest processors of frozen vegetables for the international market.
Craig is currently on the board of Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada. Craig has served on numerous industry and community-based organizations throughout his career. He is a co-founder and former President of the Alliance of Ontario Food Processors and recently served as Chair of the Conestoga College Board of Governors. He is also a former Board Chair of the Association of Ontario Chicken Processors, the London Convention Centre and the London Boys' and Girls' Club.
In the fall of 2012, Canada's first Institute of Food Processing Technology was opened and named in Craig's honour. Located in Cambridge, Ontario this nationally recognized institution is dedicated solely to training and developing skilled employees for the food processing industry, Canada's largest manufacturing sector.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and has completed the Canadian
Agri-Food Executive Development Program at the University of Guelph.
