Vice-President and Appointed Actuary

Phil joined Equitable Life in 2010, and was appointed Vice-President and Appointed Actuary in 2011. This role is accountable for the calculation of the actuarial and other policyholder liabilities, providing oversight of all aspects of actuarial functions, and annually testing the financial condition of the company and other regulatory requirements.

Phil has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and has held leadership roles in pricing and product development, valuation, corporate governance and asset liability management.

Phil is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, holds a Certificate in Quantitative Finance and an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics, Actuarial Science and Statistics from the University of Waterloo.
