Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer
Melanie joined Equitable life as a senior actuarial associate and has held progressively senior roles throughout her time with the organization. These roles have included Director, Savings and Retirement Pricing and Products, Assistant Vice-President of Savings and Retirement and Financial Reporting and Capital Management Vice-President. Most recently, she initiated the complex work to transition to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 17 that came into effect in January 2023. Melanie brings senior management experience in leading finance, pricing, actuarial and all accounting functions.
She has been an advocate within the industry, ensuring Equitable Life has been an active participant on Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association and Canadian Institute of Actuaries working groups.
Melanie is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and holds an Honours Bachelor of Math in Actuarial Sciences.
