Laura Formusa has more than 30 years of experience in the utilities industry and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro One Inc. since 2007 until her retirement at the end of 2012. She joined Hydro One (formerly Ontario Hydro) in 1980, and took on roles of increasing responsibility, including Vice-President, General Counsel and Secretary.
Laura is currently on the boards of Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada, 407 International Inc., Enmax Corporation and Chairs the Board of Tantalus. She is a former board member of Hydro One, the Canadian Electricity Association, the Banting Research Foundation, DHX Media Ltd., ICES and York University
Laura is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and was called to the Bar in 1980. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from York University's Osgoode Hall Law School in 1978 and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors Designation.
