November 16, 2018 - Equitable Life of Canada introduced a secure, fully online plan member enrolment experience today, simplifying the onboarding process for both plan administrators and plan members.
Available for both traditional and myFlex Benefits® groups, Equitable Life’s new Online Plan Member Enrolment tool offers a more secure and efficient alternative to traditional paper enrolment. Employees will be able to enroll in their benefits plan in just minutes from their computer or mobile device.
“The user-friendly interface was built with the plan member in mind,” says Norma Crouse, Assistant Vice-President of Claims and Administration at Equitable Life®. “Plan members can easily enter all their enrolment information, including dependent details, banking information for direct deposit of claim payments and details for coordination of benefits. “They can even designate their beneficiary electronically,” she adds.
The online enrolment tool also lessens the effort for plan administrators to complete a group’s enrolment. It reduces errors and rework that can occur due to spelling mistakes or missing information on paper forms. The new tool also reminds users before the enrolment period expires, resulting in fewer late applicants.
“For plan administrators, the days of chasing plan members for their paper enrolment forms are gone. It’ll all be done automatically for them,” says Crouse. “They will value the substantial time savings and accuracy that online enrolment provides.”
Online plan member enrolment is available at no additional cost to all new traditional and myFlex Benefits groups with effective dates of Jan. 1, 2019 or later.
