October 1, 2019 - Equitable Life® announced today that Homewood Health® is the new provider of both its Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) and online health and wellness services.
Equitable Life conducted a thorough review of the Canadian market to find the best Employee and Family Assistance Program provider for its clients and their employees. Homewood Health came out on top for several reasons, including their focus on mental health.
“Mental health is at the core of what Homewood does,” said Dave Bennett, Senior Vice-President, Group at Equitable Life. “They offer comprehensive and integrated services across the mental health continuum. So, they bring a wealth of clinical experience and expertise to their programming, products and services”.
With a national network of over 4,500 counsellors and clinical professionals, Homewood Health’s counselling model is second to none. “Whether it’s face-to-face, by phone, email, chat, video counselling, or through self-directed treatment programs, plan members and their family members will receive the most appropriate, most timely support for the issue they’re dealing with,” said Sean Slater, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Homewood Health.
As well, Homewood Health’s work-life services and tools are developed and delivered by psychologists and experts to help employees manage their own health and well-being in a way that fits their lives.
Equitable Life’s partnership with Homewood also allows it to offer employers and their employees with enhanced services and features, said Bennett. All Equitable Life’s clients, regardless of whether they have chosen to offer an EFAP, will benefit from:
- Access to an interactive online Health Risk Assessment to help plan members identify and address health risks;
- Access to iVolve, Homewood’s online self-directed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy treatment tool to help coach plan members to manage mild to moderate anxiety and depression;
- One of Canada’s newest EFAP mobile apps that allows users to access every one of Homewood’s online tools and all resources from wherever they are, whenever they need it;
- Homeweb, a personalized online portal that remembers the user and serves up content unique to their interests and search history; and
- An online library of interactive tools, assessments and 20 different e-courses that allow each user to learn at his/her own pace.
Equitable Life has already partnered with Homewood Health for seven years to provide plan members on disability with specialized return-to-work support, noted Bennett. “Expanding our partnership to include our EFAP and online mental health and wellness resources will further help our customers meet the mental health and wellness needs of employees and their families.”
