Equitable Life announces pilot partnership with Opifiny Corp to streamline the process for obtaining medical assessments and information

WATERLOO - Equitable Life of Canada is pleased to announce a pilot partnership with Opifiny Corp intended to streamline communication with consulting physicians and ultimately improve the client experience.

Whether it’s for a disability claim or an application for a new policy, there is often frequent communication between Equitable Life and medical teams. Opifiny Corp is an online platform that modernizes and streamlines the process of gathering medical assessments and information. By using the platform, health care professionals can access, respond to, and process medical requests easily from any device.

Equitable Life’s Group line of business is piloting the Opifiny Corp platform for gathering medical information and assessments on disability claims. “Using Opifiny Corp’s secure online platform will eliminate much of the paperwork and speed up the disability claims process for consulting physicians, benefits plan sponsors, and disability plan members,” said Meredith Weldon, Director, Group Life and Disability. “For some claims, using Opifiny Corp may enable us to assist a plan member in safely returning to work sooner.”

 The Individual Insurance line of business is utilizing the Opifiny Corp platform in hopes of speeding up turnaround times for obtaining doctors’ reports and decreasing the overall time to underwrite a policy. This could lead to a better and faster overall experience for our clients.

Equitable Life continuously reviews technology solutions and options to pursue efficiencies and provide a more seamless experience for our valued partners in the medical field. By digitizing and modernizing the process of requesting medical information from physicians, Equitable Life can have access to medical information at a faster rate.
