Equitable is committed to supporting charities and causes that help improve local communities where we live, work and do business. Our philanthropic support is focused on the following key areas: Arts & Culture, Health & Wellness, Education & Sports, and Social Services & Disaster Relief.
Our employees are passionate about giving time, money and skills to charitable organizations we work with. It's part of our culture and how we live our purpose of protecting today and preparing for tomorrow, together.
Ways we give back
Employee giving
Equitable employees are entitled to one day per year that can be directed towards a charity of their choice. They are also entitled to request up to $250 be directed to charities that are eligible and that they support directly through volunteer activities. In 2023, employees donated a total of 1,030 hours to charities.
Equitable gives back
Every quarter, two employees who have received recognition from their peers are selected to identify a charity to be the recipient of $1,500 in their honour.
Each year, this amounts to $12,000 that is directed towards charities that are meaningful to those employees.
Philanthropy and community giving
At Equitable, we believe in giving back to the communities in which we live and work. We support charitable organizations, events and initiatives that help strengthen our communities and improve the quality of life in Waterloo Region and in the other regions where we do business.
