Now entering its eleventh year, this local competition organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers recognizes organizations in the Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph area that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Employers are evaluated using eight criteria that include the physical workplace; work atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement. Employers who submit nominations are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

In awarding this recognition, the competition cited Equitable Life as an organization that:

  • Supports a number of national charitable organizations each year and encourages employees to give back to local communities by providing paid time off to volunteer.
  • Includes a health care spending account of up to $1,500 allowing employees to top-up existing levels of coverage depending on their needs, and
  • Provides a defined contribution pension plan, as well as a number of financial benefits including signing bonuses for some employees, year-end bonuses for all and referral bonuses for employees who help recruit candidates from their network.

Equitable Life is proud to be recognized as a leader in the region.
