Key Department Functions:

  • Producing the policy liabilities of the Company for regulatory and board reports
  • Analyzing/determining profits and losses
  • Producing figures required for creating the business plan
  • Performing Dynamic Capital Adequacy Testing for assessment of current and potential future capital requirements
  • Providing research and advice to other areas of the Company with respect to the selection of risks, pricing, product design, profitability, policyholder dividends and cash flow management

Frequent Qualifications Include:

  • A comprehensive academic performance record with a background in actuarial mathematics, mathematics, business or statistics
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Successfully completed at least Course 1 of the actuarial education program, jointly sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries
  • Position level may require higher standards
